Once your customers, vendors, and different charge types have been fully synched over to QuickBooks, it is time to synch over invoices, bills, and any related payments. To do this, navigate back to Tailwind and open up the accounting synchronization tool. This time, on the “Accounting Transactions Synchronization” screen, click the “Defaults” button on the window to select the default synchronization objects, as in the screenshot below:
Clicking “Defaults” will set the defaults for which objects in Tailwind are being synched to QuickBooks. Once these objects have been selected, you are ready to synch data.
Clicking next on the bottom right-hand corner to start the process of scanning Tailwind to identify which data is ready to be synched over to QuickBooks. There is a progress bar at the bottom of the screen which will indicate the progress of this scan. Once it is complete, you will be able to view the data that has been identified as ready to move over to QuickBooks. Please note that only posted data will be synched over.
While on this preview window, you have some functions:
- You can double click on a line item and it will open the associated record
- You can right-click on a line item and suppress the record. To find out more about record suppression, please view our article on record suppression here: Suppression
- “Select/Deselect all items”: You can select this by right-clicking on a line item and selecting that option. This option will check (“Select”)/uncheck(“Deselect”) all of the records in the list. This means that when you hit “Next ->”, nothing will synch over.
- “Select/Deselect all items of this type”: You can select this by right-clicking on a line item and selecting that option. This option will check (“Select”)/uncheck(“Deselect”) all of the records of a certain type in the list. For example, if you right-click on an invoice and choose “Deselect all items of this type”, it will uncheck all invoices in the list.
Once you have previewed and determined all the items that can synch over, click the “Next ->” button in the bottom right-hand corner, to send the selected data over to QuickBooks.
