All My Exits are to Texas

All my exits say it’s Texas
And Texas is the place I’d dearly love –to- be
And all my exits say it’s Texas
But why does my BOL say Tennessee?There’s bananas down in Texarcana, wanted to see if I had more room
And there’s a load of dreams in Abilene, if I don’t get there too soon
But my Allison’s in Galveston, somehow I lost my sanity
And if go to Houston without my papers the law might come lookin’ for me.All my exits say it’s Texas
And Texas is the place I’d dearly love- to- be
And all my exits say it’s Texas
But why does my BOL say Tennessee?

I remember that old truckin’ outfit, where I learned to drive
And it brings to mind another time when I felt much more alive
My trans-continent education, I read my- map each night
But I always get back to my bearings…. just before daylightAll my exits say it’s Texas

But why does my BOL say Tennessee?Some folks think I’m haulin’
It’s been rumoured that I’m  lost
